British music has always featured strongly in our programmes over the past half century and we continue that commitment in a concert celebrating our three most celebrated composers.
We feature two strongly contrasting views of London. Although they were written within a few years of each other, they could hardly be more different in mood. Despite this, they complement each other admirably.
To complete the programme, we are delighted to welcome Edinburgh-born Jessica Beeston to join us in Walton’s elegiac Viola Concerto - one of the key works in establishing his reputation in the late 1920s.
